What is my copay?

Modified on Sat, 07 Oct 2023 at 10:20 AM

A copay, or copayment, in the context of mental health services, is a fixed amount that you, as the client, are required to pay for each therapy/medication mgmt. session. The exact amount varies based on your specific health insurance plan and the provider’s agreement with the insurance company. This payment is usually made at the time of your service, prior to beginning your therapy session. The purpose of a copay is to share the cost of healthcare between the insurance company and the client, reducing the overall expenditure for the insurer and enabling more affordable access to necessary services for clients. It's important to note that different insurance plans have different copay structures, so we recommend that you verify your copay amount with your insurance provider.

If you would like Overcomers to verify your copay, please email our billing dept a front/back picture of your card.  You can email them at billing@overcomewithus.com.

Most of the time, a therapy session will have the same copay as a PCP (Primary Care Physician) visit and/or an Office Visit.  Also if you have a copay plan, sometimes you'll see your copay listed on your insurance card.
