3. Book an Appointment

Once you have found a counselor who aligns with your needs, schedule an intake appointment.  This is your first appointment to get to know one another and discuss the reason you are seeking therapy.  In addition, this helps you understand the therapist, their personality and whether you feel comfortable opening up to them. 

4. Consider the Counselor's Availability

Another important factor to consider when choosing a counselor is their availability. Check what days and times the appointments are offered.
